Current PositionSenior Vice President; Assistant Secretary Mrs. Laverty is a Director and Shareholder of this professional consulting firm. As Vice President, she is responsible for directing the company's sales and marketing activities; by drawing on her more than twenty (20) years of experience in retail management, she also provides marketing assistance and consultation services to clients. Mrs. Laverty assisted in researching related data for the proposed contractor for the Ohio Turnpike Commission's Toll Information System Upgrade (TISU) project and Microwave System Request For Proposal. She participated in the ongoing progress meetings and program management for the TISU project, including documentation and contract administration. Mrs. Laverty worked on the firm's project with the Kansas Turnpike Authority, where she researched data for the development and participated in the design meetings for a request for proposals for new Dual-height Automatic Ticket Issuing Machines and related toll equipment. She assisted the Kansas Turnpike Authority with project management throughout the duration of this project. In addition, Mrs. Laverty helped write the Request For Proposal for a Toll Collection System Upgrade for the Laredo Bridge System. This system includes toll audit, management information services, marketing, maintenance, testing, installation inspection, scheduling, tag store operation, Weigh-In-Motion (WIM) and Electronic Toll Collection (ETC). She also is directing the Marketing & Advertising area of the project, which involves the three existing International Bridges into Mexico and the new fourth bridge (World Trade Bridge) that was opened for traffic in April 2000. Mrs. Laverty assisted in writing the Request for Proposal for a Toll Collection System for the Delaware River & Bay Authority's Delaware Memorial Bridge. She also assisted with the release of the RFP to the vendor community, review of vendors' responses, design acceptance, construction / installation, inspection and testing. Mrs. Laverty was also involved in providing ongoing project management for development and implementation for the duration of the Toll Collection System project. She has also participated in progress meetings for a new electronic toll and conventional toll system for the Maryland Transportation Authority. She has assisted with meeting minutes for the South Carolina Department of Transportation's Electronic Toll Collection System. Mrs. Laverty has assisted with meeting minutes for the New Jersey Turnpike Authority's Regional Electronic Toll Collection Implementation Program. Mrs. Laverty was Project Manager for a project at Logan International Airport in Boston, MA. She was responsible for the integration and utilization of acoustic vehicle detection software, downloading and converting vehicle data, and procedures for continued monitoring, reporting and analysis of traffic information. Mrs. Laverty served as Project Manager for a nationwide survey conducted by BWZA concerning the toll collection equipment needs and desires of toll authorities and agencies. She is a company representative to the International Bridge, Tunnel & Turnpike Association, where she serves on the Public Relations, Operations and Administration functional committees. In addition, Mrs. Laverty is a member of the Philadelphia, PA chapter of the Women's Transportation Seminar (WTS), a national organization of professionals in the transportation industry. Jody has been selected as the first Public Relations Chairman for the Philadelphia chapter of WTS. Prior Professional ExperienceLevitz Furniture Corporation (1981-1996) Accessory/Display Manager. Mrs. Laverty has fifteen (15) years of experience in Interior Design and display, buying and managing furniture and accessory inventory, preparing budgets and sales plans, managing display staff, conducting sales meetings, working with vendors to improve product quality, and providing excellent customer service. Mrs. Laverty increased accessory sales in the Wilmington branch by 40%, decreased shrinkage 30%, decreased old age merchandise 40%, and improved markup 20%. She was selected as part of a team of decorators to open new satellite showrooms. Mrs. Laverty participated in yearly display contests and won several awards. She wrote, edited, and published the first ever branch newsletter. As one of the senior Accessory / Display Managers, she advised the District and Group Offices on local trends in furniture and accessory sales. Mrs. Laverty served on the Quality Improvement Management team at Levitz for five years. Many of her Think Quality suggestions were implemented and saved the company money and improved customer service. Mrs. Laverty was the recipient of a store-wide Quality Award in 1993, in recognition of her superior customer service. Mrs. Laverty has designed countless residential and commercial interiors, including furniture placement, carpeting, wallpaper, paint color, window treatment, and accessories. Her commercial clients have included Rubino Builders (DE), Acierno Builders (DE), Capano Builders (DE), and Quality Developers (PA), for whom she furnished their sample town homes and houses. She was hired by Brandywine 100 Luxury Town homes and Cliff House Condominiums to re-design their lobbies and samples. She also designed and furnished a corporate residence in New Jersey. Her most recent design project was to furnish and accessorize four townhouses built in the Paladin Club in Delaware by Pettinaro Developers. These homes were shown on cable television and sold quickly. Mrs. Laverty designed, planned, staffed, and coordinated all details of the Levitz display in the Philadelphia Home Show's Theatre of Design display for two years. This show is recognized nationally by the furniture industry and widely attended by residential and commercial customers. She also designed the furniture and accessory layout for the hospitality suites and award stage for the 1995 Virginia Slims / Women's Tennis Association Tour . Springfield Mall (1979 - 1981) Administrative Assistant - Mrs. Laverty maintained the Merchants' Association account including: receivables, payables, general ledger, trial balance, and billing statements. She computed, analyzed, and prepared reports disclosing sales, real estate taxes, and common area maintenance adjustments. She responded to inquiries about retail space availability, and lease requirements. She assisted in planning and organizing promotional events for the mall. She worked with the mall=s advertising agency. Mrs. Laverty reported directly to the Operations Manager and assisted in obtaining tenants for the new Philadelphia Bourse building. Hickory Farms Sales Corp. (1977-1979) Store Manager Store Manager - Mrs. Laverty was responsible for hiring, training, scheduling, and evaluating employee and management staff. She ordered and attractively presented the store's inventory, ordered all foods and other merchandise, and created in-store promotions. She completed payroll and maintained store cleanliness. Mrs. Laverty consistently maintained and operated the highest volume store location in the Philadelphia, Delaware, and New Jersey region. She served as training manager for new manager trainees from other stores.
