Following below is a reproduction of the letter to Walk Team Captains from Leighann Moll, Harrisburg Walk Chair, and Team Captain of Pam's Pals

 

Dear Fellow Team Captains,

As the chairperson of this year's walk, I want to thank you for giving of yourself and taking action by participating in the Sixth Annual Harrisburg Walk to D'Feet ALS. Through your efforts we raised over $230,000 to support patient service programs and research. Not only did we raise this amazing sum but this year included some very significant milestones that give us hope for a brighter tomorrow.

bulletFirst, because of you and your team's efforts in soliciting donations, we surpassed the $1 million mark for total funds raised over the past six years in the Harrisburg-Hershey area.
bulletSecondly, we had more teams participate than ever before. This in itself is significant because while many of you know first-hand just how physically debilitating ALS is, we choose to take action to raise more awareness and an even greater support system for our loved ones who need it most. To see so many who truly care about finding a cure for the disease means we are making strides in the right direction -- it is for this reason we will never lose hope.

Thank you again for giving of yourself. Should you ever question the impact of your efforts, just remember the patients who continue to fight. The Walk to D'Feet ALS is one of the primary opportunities for patients, family and friends to come together in a non-hospital setting to show one another their love and support thus creating a community forever bonded together. Because of your participation, you bring strength to each patient's will to fight, and that is to be commended. I truly wish to see you next year for the 7th annual Harrisburg Walk to D'Feet ALS!
